my response to 9/8/2014: Driving American Politics Underground
By Chris Hedges
What states(so called sovereignties) are good at, is fabricating the illusion of a population of people who have identities apart(superior)from the world they live in. The mass delusion of separated selves, egos, that believe they can work as divided beings to unify particalized moral philosophies to lay a reality on the construct we all seem to agree is civilization. Civilization meaning, a bit worse than a house of cards, and more like a big & effective smoke and mirror trick.
The only way we, as human beings, can get this world on track, is for us not to survive any superficial concoction/expedient form of activism enacted in even the most effective/well timed/last resort moment/manners.
The ego must always not survive any action toward re-balancing the planet, socially or materially, because ego is only sustained by a mutual assumption that all that has happened and will happen is encapsulated in "history", restricted by "history". One does not need history if a result/intention is truly sincere, and dispersed completely & equally among all humans beings everywhere.
The only way to disprove human folly is to be inhuman. Inhuman in the sense of a human being that is not relying on the same identity it seeks to overcome/undermine in society/government that it also wants to have survive for himself/herself,, to find or continue value/purpose in being alive or existing.
The only individual is the planet earth, the only other person might be some other planet that grows humans as well. One of my favorite philosophers said, "like an apple tree apples, the earth peoples".
Nothing independent about that relationship.
Our senses, including our mind, is only to navigate this world that grew us all, our senses are not weapons to be used in an impossible goal of controlling or destroying it without doing the same to us all. We got a brain mostly to avoid repeating history, not to record it or use as a reference for tomorrows actions, or even today's.
Politics/agendas of the type that most closely approximate a "change for the good", have always been under ground. As politics/agendas of states(soveriegnties) have always been above ground. But the catch is they have always been 2 sides of the same coin.
To make any form of activism active(effective) is to see one more rung in the ego of civilization be destroyed completely.
To the willfully egotistical, to the unwavering believer in some sort of objective human self, this idea of destroying that self, that enmasse ego, well, sounds frightening, But I think what is really frightening are the only 2 other options that are left.
1. A natural disaster strikes the world, and is so devastingthat all of so called civilization collapses and all groups fight each other to the death to survive.
2. A world war happens, wth the same results. (this includes revolutions good or bad)
Trust me, the results of either of the 2 will prove my point, that we are all bad guys in the world as it currently stands today, and has been "historicalized" to date.
All activism must have as the end game, its primary intention/agenda, to educate the world's misled total population, as to how to live with a destroyed current world ego. Ego-identity-self are just other words for "separation from reality my way", really a complete and deadly oxymoron.
Without ego we will still have our senses. Our senses and our cognitive capacities are not means of separation, but just tools to enjoy & appreciate our connection and collective place in this world. We need not humanize the earth, that is redundent and backwards.

I think every piece of literature that claims to articulate "resistance", must also have 2 caveats, one that the device or medium being used is only an expedient, and holds no truth, and secondly that the device or medium always tapers off with the most compellling reminder that soon after using/reading/hearing/etc.. this piece of expressed resistance that some part of your ego must "other" destruct(versus "self" destruct which as I am trying to explain is quite impossible). Kind of like that recorded message of "Mission Impossible" tv series, which explains to the listener instructions to carry out the mission, but as soon as the message is done the tape will self destruct.
Any real-time material progress, via resistance/activism, will still be implemented or not, but more importantly than the surface success/failure of that resistance is the consistent act or practice of destroying a sliver of our current world's ego, via our own complicity. More and more what is considered "change for the good or better" will be more a chipping away of the crux of the problem,, and the continuation of reconstituting our inhumanity from the fragmented delusions of our current humanity, the current world wide ego.
Since it has been ass-backwards to try to humanize the earth, when it was the earth who humanized us. The ego that has built our current civilization must be destroyed. Simple destroying civilization only brings disaster, not a better order, or more of anything that might be considered missing.
I suppose, practicing an inhumanity in this manner, might be considered a modern zen dialectical. Kind of one of those neutron bombs, the kind that kill all occupants of a tank or some infrastructure, but leave the tank or infrastructure intact, reusable. We kind of need to use a form of a zen neutron bomb on the earth to make sure it survives intact, so we can repopulate/remember our connections. While laughing off our "historical" enstrangment/separation from this planet, via the march of civilization/statehood/soveregnty for delusional differences.
A resistance to difference has nothing to do with genocide, but has everything to do with preserving all without separation, without difference. There is no freedom or justice to be experienced in this world if the pursuit of that freedom or justice does not destroy the current & historical world ego/identity. There is no special piece we can keep for ourselves and at the same time be operating with sincere intentions.
Sound idealistic, well, that is your ego talking. People who use the word idealistic to insult someone are fully invested in the current world, they are "dealistic", and just want their piece of pie preserved/reserved.
